Creating a 'Factbook' about a Key Civil Rights Person

You are going to create a series of 'Factbook' pages about a Key Civil Rights Person.  These will then be judged by your classmates and the best 5 will be put up on the display board in the hallway - so do yourselves, and those Civil Rights people proud!

I shall give you -

You may choose any person that you wish to, but remember that you need to be able to find photos of family, friends, and acquaintances to go with your person.
Oh, by the way, you CANNOT choose Martin Luther King Jr.!!!

Please DO NOT just cut and paste information from the internet - this is plagiarism, and will result in you getting an F (fail) for your work.

PART I -
You are going to need to have the following pages -
  • Slide 1 - Profile Page
  • Slide 2-6 = Wall I-V - Each page should feel like a snapshot of a moment in the person's life and should contain certain cues that situate the person in their historical period - dates, references etc as relevant.  Use your imagination. Pages can include -
    • Dialogs with people they agree with, including the details of the dialogs, and what it is clearly about;
    • Dialogs with people that they disagree with, including the details of the dialogue, and what it is clearly about;
    • Postings about activities, events, organizations the person has or will engage in;
    • Comments on current events (of their time period);
    • The person could write a note and the invite feedback or comments from friends;
    • Status updates that people commented on;
    • Comments on the popular culture of the time i.e. music, art, etc.
  • Slide7 = Friends page - They need to have at least 5 friends with captions identifying who is who (Cut and paste/use text boxes.
  • Slide 8 = Photos page - There needs to be at least 5 photos of the person you have chosen.

PART II -
Print off the 'Factbook' page assignment, and email me a copy.

PART III -
Write up a one page analysis of why you chose that particular person, what you hope your page about this person conveys about them and the historical period and their social network.  I would also like you to list all of the sources that you used for this project.  Remember, plagiarism is not acceptable!
